5 weeks

Whew...It looks like i have survived a month haha jk i really should be saying "what?! its already been a month?!" I cant express how much i love being in the mtc for many reasons.  a few of which i have already told you in past letters i believe.  but a new reason that i have come to know this week is that the mtc can change you.  i say can because you have to let it.  give it everything you got and even more and have a desire to change.  this week i have been changed from a 19 yr old boy into missionary that is gasping for for more opportunities to learn and share the wonderful message that us missionaries share.  the message that heavenly father loves us and we are his children.  and because he loves us he has given us the restored gospel through a prophet that was called in these latter days.  and he continues to call prophets to help guide us so we know the way to eternal life, which is eternal happiness.  i think one of the things that has helped me change is my growing love for the book of mormon.  i found a small 3x5 BoM and i have been carrying it everywhere and i cant set it down.  (btw if you can find a 3x5 spanish LDM i am really trying to find one! so i can carry both!) i would liket o share with you a few of the things i have learned while reading.  i really love 1 nephi 16 when nephi breaks his bow and then it says in verse 18 "my brethren were angry with me because of the loss of my bow," What?! i said to my self after reading this how is the world are they mad at him for his bow breaking? but then we read later in verse 21 "their bows having lost their spring" haha i then realized wow they were to lazy to unstring their bows when they werent using them so theirs werent working and then nephi breaks his and now they are blaming him for their mistakes?  please dont let us make the same mistakes as laman and lemuel.  do everything you can to be prepared for the unexpectable so we can be the ones to step up and say "whither shall i go to obtain food, father?" nephi is my hero and i hope that can learn from his wonderful writings in the book of mormon.  I also wanted to share with you my testimony that i know the lord lets things happen for a reason.  i know you all know that my visa didnt come when it was supposed to.  but i what you dont know is how lucky i was to still be here in the mtc for this last tues when elder holland came and spoke to us.  this is the other thing that have been a pivitol point for me while serving.  he shared many wonderful things and i wish i could share them all with you but i only have time for a few.  he started by telling how much he loved us and how much the presidency loves us and then how much he "knows" the lord loves us. then he bore a strong testimony of how much his mission had changed his life.  my favorite part was main part of his talk where he answered a few questions we had submitted.  my favorite being "what is the greatest gift i can give the savior?" he answered this with confidence when he said "Give him your heart." when heavenly father appeared to joseph in the sacred grove he told him that other people preaching "drew near to him with their lips but their 'hearts' are far from me" i challenge you to ponder that in your hearts and ask yourselves.  have i given my heart to the lord so that he can change me into a better son/daughter. sorry i didnt get to tell you nearly all of what i wanted to say but i will finish writing a handwritten letter to tell the rest.

love you all! and i know heavenly father loves you!
